Jazzoneando to showcase American jazz singer Katia Cardenas on tour in Mexico

SEPT. 1, 2018 — Katia Cardenas headlines at all the best venues in Minneapolis-St. Paul, and has toured in California. Now she’s headed to Mexico’s central Bajio region for a tour with the Latin jazz trio Jazzoneando and invited guests.
Casa Museo Gene Byron, Guanajuato
Katia’s first appearance with Jazzoneando will be Nov. 4 at the exquisite hacienda Casa Museo Gene Byron in Marfil, Guanajuato. The program will feature jazz standards and pop favorites with original arrangements by Katia Cardenas, and Latin music selections with original arrangements by pianist Yamil Vázquez. Katia’s favorites from the Great American Songbook with some Latin jazz mixed in will be the order of the evening when she performs Nov. 9 at Mi Delirio Café in Querétaro. Teatro Ángela Peralta, San Miguel de Allende
A Nov. 10 concert at the venerable Teatro Angela Peralta in historic San Miguel de Allende will be the centerpiece of Katia’s “El Bajio Tour” and will feature Jazzoneando along with invited guests on percussion, saxophone and trumpet. The program will include jazz standards and contemporary jazz tunes including songs from her idols Ella Fitzgerald and Carole King, with arrangements by Katia Cardenas and Jazzoneando director Yamil Vázquez, along with pop, r&b, and Latin themes. The famed 19th-century Angela Peralta theater is the ideal stage for Katia’s talent, energy and expansive repertoire. A show not to be missed!
